Alessandro has been heading the Media & IPTV business unit of FASTWEB in the past 12 months. He joined FASTWEB at the start (2000) in the Strategic Planning Dept. and has subsequently (2001-02) been in charge of the company's relations with investors and financial/industry analysts; in 2004-05 he has been responsible for the creation, pricing and marketing of IPTV services; since 2006 Alessandro has also been granted full responsibility over the company's content and rights acquisition efforts, prior to being appointed to his current role. Prior to joining FASTWEB, Alessandro was a strategy consultant with Bain & Co, where he started his career after a BA graduation at the Bocconi University of Milan.

At Microsoft he has a strong focus on the retail and media industry. Following his studies of Economics in Trier and Maastricht, he started his career as a consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, followed by a position as Senior Business Consultant and Project Manager at Intershop, where he was involved in the development and realisation of well-known e-commerce platforms and web-portals. After this, he used his considerable experience of eCommerce to start his own business in eCommerce consulting with a small team.

After holding a position as Assistant to the Marketing Director of Nestlé Germany AG, Maggi GmbH in Frankfurt in 1998, he moved on to the music broadcaster MTV. Following various stations in marketing, he was responsible for all mobile and online activities of the Viacom family (MTV, Viva, Nick, Comedy Central) as Head of Digital Business until 2007. Now, he holds the position of Director Marketing & Content at MySpace / Fox Interactive Germany and is in charge of all marketing activities and content co-operations of the world’s most successful social network in Germany.

Colin has a Masters Degree from the University of Florida and has post-graduate business education experience from Stanford. He is a published author.

Claus Bülow Christensen has a broad background in both the Danish media and telco industry, having had leading positions at both the Danish public service station, TV 2, as well as at the Scandinavian IPTV and triple play company, Bredbandsbolaget (B2 Bredband). He is today a self-employed consultant in his company, TomorrowsNextMedia Consultancy, that focuses on business strategies for digital media distribution, with clients within both the media industry and the telco sector. TomorrowsNextMedia Consultancy is also working with implementing user friendly technology concepts for The Digital Home, as the company has a strong focus on usability for the emerging digital lifestyle.
Christina Hirsch, Sony DHME / tvtvChristina is responsible for the business development of new services on top of EPG/ metadata. Before joining Sony, she was product manager at Vodafone Germany where she was in charge of DVB-H rollout amongst other products. She specialised in innovation management, market research and intercultural communication during her studies at Munich’s Ludwig-Maximilian-University.

Daren is a pioneer in the area of content discovery and personalisation in this world of convergence across web, mobile and the tv. Before joining Veveo to extend their innovative search technology into consumer offerings across mobile, web and IPTV, Daren was SVP of Product Development at ChoiceStream building personalisation and recommendations solutions for partners such as Yahoo!, Apple, Comcast, DirecTV, Blockbuster, and AOL. Early in his career, Daren was the co-founder of the Hear Music record label which was acquired by Starbucks.
David Whittaker, NDS

David has particular responsibility to ensure that digital television technologies are designed to deliver real world business benefits to consumers, broadcasters and advertisers. He has been closely involved with the development and deployment of NDS’ XTV secure DVR technologies in platforms including BSkyB, DIRECTV and Sky Italia. He is also involved with the deployment of improved "return path data" viewing measurement methods to enable TV ratings to report new and increasingly fragmented TV viewing behaviours such as time-shift and personalised on-demand services.

Dirk studied Business Administration at the University of Cooperative Education in Mannheim and has a MBA from Lancaster University and Vienna University and a Ph. D. from the University St. Gallen. Before joining ProSiebenSat.1 Group in 2002, Dirk worked as an Internal Strategy Consultant at BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH and as Head of Business Development at Kirch Intermedia’s Sport1.de. At ProSiebenSat.1 Group, he was Head of Business Development at SevenOne Intermedia GmbH until September 2004. Since then, he has been Head of Business Development and Digital TV at SevenOne Intermedia GmbH. In March 2006, he was appointed Managing Director of SevenSenses GmbH.

As Director of Programming he also developed and realised „Savings Banks TV“, the first digital special interest TV channel for private finance distributed via digital satellite. Horst Stipp is Sen. Vice President, Strategic Insights & Innovation in the Research department of NBC Universal in New York where he oversees strategic marketing and consumer research for NBCU’s TV networks as well as the new digital platforms. Stipp received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Columbia University and has been involved in media research for over 30 years. His publications, in English and German, cover a wide range of topics. Recently, he has written in journals and contributed to books on the development of the media in the digital age. Since 2000, he has been teaching a seminar on media metrics at Columbia University’s Business School.

Sebastian is an internationally recognised figure in the field of digital television, video compression and its various applications. He is chief executive of dicas digital image coding GmbH, a German company which specialises in developing MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 real-time video coding software and hardware systems. As President of the MPEG Industry Forum (MPEGIF), he leads the world’s largest not-for-profit organisation promoting the adoption of open MPEG standards, representing around 40 international member companies.

Stephan Noller studied Psychology in Cologne, earning honours for his work on "Mental Models and Web Navigation." He has contributed to various scientific publications and research projects with his research into the conclusions that can be drawn from users' online behavior. Before nugg.ag he worked at TNS Emnid, assigned with developing a new process for measuring internet coverage for the industry association AGOF, in 2005/2006 he also developed a targeting system for TNS for online advertising based on automated profiling.
